Leaving for China

It’s done. I am leaving for China today, and will try to find a job there. I have decided that if I get a suitable job in China, I will settle down in that country. It’s not going to be an easy thing to get a job, and I will probably despair at times, but after thinking out the whole thing, I believe I will be happier trying my luck. It is not a sudden decision although whether I am in my right mind to do it remains to be seen

Now, a friend of mine was asking me why China, and not Singapore or HK. I am not against working in these countries, but I have learnt the language for two years, and I have come to appreciate these people and the lifestyle. And I feel I can be happy growing old there. Money is not everything, right? (Yeah, I am just trying to convince myself. I could earn more in these two countries or even back home)

Leaving has a cost too. Apart from the salary I could have earnt while I was dallying at home, I am losing out practically the whole sum of money I paid for my Audi. I can only get peanuts back on the sale of the car. It sucks, because that represented a huge part of my savings. So, I better get a job soon. Anyone needs a qualified accountant in China?

I am going to BJ and SH. Ideally want to work in one of the big cities - BJ, SH, GZ… But more realistically where I can find a decent job.
