Flight to China via Hong Kong
I took the plane to HK on Thursday. The plane was full of people and I was surprised to meet a couple of people I know on the same flight, as I wrongly believed they left the island earlier. The Air Mauritius promotion is doing well. I must say that it was a bit strange to see many Indo-Mauritians as the people who are often associated with doing business/visiting China are Sino-Mauritians and Muslims (what’s the terminology?).
The positive thing is that, unlike on my trip back to Mauritius from HK last January, the plane this time did have a music channel with Chinese/Cantonese songs. Although I believe it should have been two, with the each different dialects (one for HK and one for China) having their own separate channel. I wonder if the same plane also goes to India. It is a bit hard to accept the plane playing 3 (or was it 4) Indian music channels on a flight to HK plane. Why segregate the different type of Indian dialects but not the Chinese ones? And I am not getting started on the Mandarin and Cantonese movie channels both being in Cantonese languages.
If anyone from Air Mauritius is reading this, please do try and get the headphone jacks sorted out. It’s getting really annoying having problems to hear from both sides fo the earphones. There has been no improvement in the last few years that I have been travelling on Air Mauritius.
