Trinity Blood
I just watched the final (?) episode of Trinity Blood, a Japanese animated series. It is a tale of humans and vampires living on Earth, on the brink of killing each other for supremacy. The good guys are from the Vatican, so no prize in guessing that the film has many references to Christianism. The ‘hero’ is Abel and the real bad guy is Cain (he only appears like 3/4 into the series). Ring any bells?
It was interesting to note that the hero (Abel Nightroad) turns into something like a black devil when it goes into Crusnik mode while the bad guy (Cain) turns into a white Angel-esque figure in Crusnik mode. A twist on the notion of what an angel and the devil look like? And when they both fell down onto Earth, hurt during their battle, it reminded me of the words “fallen angel”. Small details that one may overlook, but certainly not accidental in the fertile imagination of the producers.
