Windy Beijing

Beijing duing the windy day Beijing duing the windy day Beijing duing the windy day
Yesterday, Saturday, was a cold day. Lots of winds (apparently gusts of winds of level 5-6 on Chinese rating), and the predicted warm day (16C) that I had on my AccuWeather plug-in turned out to be inaccurate for once. Not that I was too surprised. On Friday night my Chinese friend told me it was going to be a cold weekend and that I could wear the winter jacket I had just bought that day.

I woke up to the sound of winds blowing and things falling down. Even without looking out I could make out it was carton boxes from the small stall where I would sometimes buy water bottles, and the tables on which my Chinese neighbours would, during the day, play mahjong. I had planned to go have a haircut and go to the ACCA BJ office, but felt too lazy to go out in such weather. In the end I stayed indoor, getting over a small hangover, surfing the net and sleeping.

I later read a report forecasting the weather in Beijing for Saturday to be a max of 10C during the day, and to go down as low as 0C during Saturday night. Today, Sunday, is supposed to be as cold. Oh well, I guess I will skip the Fragrant Hill (香山) trip today.:gosleep:

At least u r getting cold temps, here it is terrible. Can’t stay in the morning sun for more that 2 minutes. You can get scalded if you stay for more than 5 minutes idle.:busted:

Well, yeah, it’s not so cold inside, but it’s not all warm either :D The heater should be on as from mid Nov. Can’t wait for that.

Haha! Hey, it was cold in the appartment, but outside it was not too bad… Don’t know why the SH appartment was freezing cold and the living room could not get warm enough. In Beijing we need the heater since using aircon as heater is not likely to be enough against the colder temperature up North. I still have the electric blanket, plus the previous tenant left her electric blanket for me to use. So I got two to heat me up during the winter. :P
