Some of the Chinese series I am watching
Here are a few of the shows I am watching during my stay in China:

我爱我家 (I love my family) - a show about a Beijing family in the 90s, with the grandfather, the uncle and auntie, the kids… all living in a small house. It’s a show that when I was doing Intermediate Chinese, one of my teachers recommended us watching to get used to the Beijing accent and speech idioms. I still don’t get most of the jokes, and it’s so-so on the story parts. The story is mainly shot in the small house’s living room, and full of stereotypes - the grandpa is wearing traditional ‘Mao’ collar shirt and the old auntie is a Party member…
家有儿女 (Home with kids) - I never got to see the fist episodes, and the description of the series from the Chinese sites seemed at odd with what I watched…. From the episodes I watched, it’s about a couple’s daily life with 3 kids (2 sons and a daughter). Most of the story is in the appartment of the family. The jokes are better and the plot more lively. I like it.

武林外传 (My own swordsman) - Fictional story centered on the owner of 同福客栈 (an inn) and her employees in 江湖 (it actually means in all corners of the country) during the Ming dynasty. Don’t let that fool you, it’s full of slapsticks, very modern, and pretty funny.
The pictures were taken from various sites/discussion boards which seem to have copied and posted them, so I’m not mentioning the sites.
