Looking for BF at BLCU

Looking for BF 征男友

This afternoon, I went to BLCU for an early dinner. I was exhausted from my trip to Fragrant Hill, and was looking forward to go home and rest. After having a bite at the canteen, I passed by a notice board where you normally find people posting Tutoring or Room for Rent adverts. I was really surprised to see a 征男友 notice there. (The bigger one reads 正男友。本人:本科二年级(女),闭月羞花[她其实写了“必月绣花”],无不良好,省省省再省。要求,男,本科以上。相貌端正。有一定经济基础。*有房有车更好)身高176-187)

What is a 征男友? It’s Chinese for “seeking for a boyfriend”. Well, the two pieces of papers are more or less of the same meaning. From what I understand from the bigger one (the translation might not be 100% accurate), the girl is a 2nd year undergrad, extremely beautiful, no vice, her hobby is saving money. She is looking for a guy who’s at least a graduate, pleasant appearance, financially independent, better if he has his own car or house.

It’s not so surprising to find notice of people looking for a BF for their daughters - in reunions, on newspapers, on some doors and notice boards - or even some girls putting their own requests on certain forum boards, but this is the first time I saw this kind of posting at BLCU. It brings one to wonder. If the girl really is that beautiful and nice, would she need to put such a notice? And it’s hard to find students who are economically well off and of that height - I am assuming she’s looking for locals or Japanese / Koreans… those are the one who would be able to decipher her writings. If she is looking for Westerners, I don’t think there are that many at BLCU that are at a stage where they can read free-flowing characters, nor are they really interested in trying to decipher such stuffs.

Anyway, it was a surprising sight. I hope they can get someone that meet their criteria and they hit it off together.

Guess what! I saw in a cctv broadcast that there is some gathering place in China (do not remember the name), where mums are looking for husbands or wives for their children. The latter do not have time for dating because of their hectic life. So to see this piece of announcement no longer surprises me especially now in the land of china. :order:

That’s what I said, they have reunions for that… in a couple of parks in Beijing during weekends if I remember an old article I saw.
