The Godfather of Soul has gone
I just learnt that James Brown has died. He’s the Godfather of Soul music. If you don’t know his music, then you’ve got to go and listen at least once in your life. I got you (I feel good), Sex Machine, I Got the Feelin’, Give It up or Turnit a Loose …. His rasping vocals, tight pants, shimmering feet, eye makeup and outrageous hair made him unique.

There goes another great character from the music world. His contribution to soul, funk, rhythm & blues as well as gospel music has been invaluable. His talent as a songwriter, performer, singer & producer has been outstanding. James Brown has been recognised as a fabulous entertainer and his music will be remembered as both moving and touching. Even when he started to have personal and financial problems in the late 1980’s, this did not stop him from performing and producing music. Now that he is gone, he will become even more famous. May his soul rest in peace.
