Pain
That’s the word that summarises my feeling for the day and night.:tears::mad:
I’ve been in pain since I woke up on Tuesday morning, and have been finding it hard to move about, especially when I have to turn on my waist or bend down/stand up. For walking straight it’s fine. In the evening I couldn’t bear [...]

Transportation card
Last week, I finally bought an electronic public transportation card in Beijing (the blue card in the picture 交通 一卡通). When I was in Shanghai, I found the SH Public Transportation Card (or simply 上海公共交通卡) very convenient. After buying the card for 25rmb, you just had to replenish the prepaid credits everytime u used it. [...]

Normal Day…. almost
Today’s Valentine Day. But for me it could be just another normal day as I’m single and unattached. I wished the small restaurant owner near my appartment a safe trip back home for the holidays (did I mention that the food there is pretty worthwhile for its price?), had a haircut (15rmb for wash, trim [...]

On Monday I went to Wangfujing to see someone who might or might not be my next language exchange partner (French - Chinese). Rush for ticket back home
Just a couple of pictures I took from the internet to show the mass of people who swarm the ticket offices to buy their train tickets to go back home in time for the Spring festival. These 2 pictures are of the Beijing West railway station. There’s no way the Chinese are going to [...]

First rant of the year
:swear::swear::swear::swear::swear::swear:
I just had my laptop repaired for about 1,000rmb. So frigging expensive to have the part where the power cord gets connected to the laptop fixed. And the HP repair centre took one whole week to get it fixed. No need to say that the repair guys were trying to get me to repair some [...]

English
I have been complaining a lot about how the Chinese language have many words that have several meanings, making it hard for us foreigners to understand what the locals are saying, and cdn_china came up with the following:
Reasons why the English language is so hard to learn:
1) The bandage was wound around the wound. [...]

Start of spring 立春
I am using my neighbour’s wifi network without his knowledge to post this. Hope he doesn’t disconnect halfway through the post. I will only have my internet connection working some time next week. :(
Well, it looks like my friends like to let me know about festivities. Today is apparently 立春 (li chun), or [...]
