Normal Day…. almost

Roses for Valentine Day
Today’s Valentine Day. But for me it could be just another normal day as I’m single and unattached. I wished the small restaurant owner near my appartment a safe trip back home for the holidays (did I mention that the food there is pretty worthwhile for its price?), had a haircut (15rmb for wash, trim and 30mins upper body massage), and went to get my laptop back from the repairs centre this afternoon. I saw some people selling roses, and some girls giggling about their coming dinner dates, but nothing exceptional. I did think of and wish someone happy Valentine, and if that person happens to somehow come across my blog, you know who you are ;)

Just want to add a word: Mrs Shi, thanks for your help yesterday.

Ok, that’s my small rambling for Valentine day. I need to prepare for tomorrow’s meeting.

So how was the meeting? Massage upper body??? Hmm what kind? 30 mins?? You must have felt very fresh afterwards. No face massage? :)

Meeting was discussing possible teaching job as ACCA lecturer in a small … tution centre. It’s from end of June to end of Nov. But the salary is low. Native English speakers (often without teaching qualifications) get that same hourly rate. ACCA is very technical and I was expecting an hourly rate of about twice that he proposed. Sucks.

Upper body means head, neck, shoulder, arms and ‘le dos’. Nothing sexual. It’s very common to get them at the hairdresser in China. Although such haircut package for guys would normally cost at least 25-30rmb at the small-medium hair salon. Of course, luxury or hotel salons cost much, much more.

hmmm!! Seems pretty cool. Do we have hairdresser in dodoland? May be can think about introducing the mix here. Pou fer maru casse sa!!! Aio ler la kan to gagne casse, ADSU pou fer landing kot twa, dire to p casse moeurs. So much so for a brilliant idea…

You can accept the job in the meantime instead of getting nothing. And acquire some teaching experience. How much are they proposing? Is it a full time job? A friend of mine is teaching same part time at a tuition centre and they are paying him 4000 mur. This was two to three years ago. He too had no teaching experience but had some communication skills.
