Yay for WordPress 2.3.1
I have been struggling with the recent versions of WordPress for several months. I kept having my draft posts disappear on save / save and continue. And even when it is saved, a view post would result in a blank page.
Fortunately, with the latest 2.3.1 version, things are back to normal. Well, normal as much [...]

New HP laptop finally received
I have finally received the long-awaited HP laptop. I was supposed to get it while in HK on my way back to Mauritius but for some reasons it wasn’t ready. Last weekend I got it from a cousin who brought it for me in her luggage (she already had her own business laptop with her).
It’s [...]

Back home, no laptop
Still awaiting my new laptop. It’s been a disappointment not receiving it even though I spent a week in Hong Kong. I thought that after confirming the quotation, I would get in easily during the 7-8 days I spent there. I was wrong.
Not only did we miss on the straightforward confirmation because my friend’s staff [...]

Laptop dead
My old laptop has finally hit the bucket. I don’t know if the thunders that were going off during most of the week have anything to do with it. But now Windows’s crashed and all reinstallation has failed. I keep getting missing dll or hardware failure notice.
Of course, all the pictures I was too lazy [...]

Installation update
Well, so far I am still trying to get my WinXP installed properly. It’s been over a day, but for some reason I can’t get the SP2 upgrading pack to be installed. It keeps stopping after downloading some 0.2-0.5Mb and the file is 83.3Mb. So tired of waiting to say ‘download failed’ then restart it. [...]

Time to reinstall Windows
It’s time to reinstall my Windows. This morning it suddenly started giving me the BSOD, and since then it’s been impossible to even start my WinXP on safe mode. :(
When I was doing a disckscan, I got my Ubuntu working again in more or a less a satisfactory way, but I need Windows for several [...]

London 2012
As some of you are probably aware, the Olympics will be held in London in 2012. Well, the Olympic Logo came out yesterday, and it was really crap. It looks like some kid’s street art. And rightfully claimed as a waste of money and poor taste by many people already.
But what people haven’t expressedly stated, [...]

Juliette je t’aime
Haha, no love declaration here.
“Juliette je t’aime” is the French name of the manga series めぞん一刻, aka Maison Ikkoku. I have just finished downloading the 96 episodes of the series (Japanese OV, with Chinese subtitles). When I was way younger, I used to watch it on Club Dorothee (for those old enough to know what [...]
